Altima 2010 has hood 'oil-can' noise

When it’s cold and the car heats up, you can hear the hood sheetmetal make an ‘oil-can’ buckle sound. Happens frequently while running in cold weather. It’s not the hood itself, but perhaps the metal underneath.

Anyone else experience this crazy behavior? It’s noticeably loud.

I’m sure the car is still under warranty. You should have the dealer investigate this noise.

Look under your hood…many times the hood braces are GLUED to the hood…if they are glued instead of welded…then the glue detaches the hood metal from the bracing…this leaves the big piece of metal that makes up the hood to flop around…

You can use new glue…or for that matter take it back to the dealer under warranty…this is way too new for this nonsense.
