2009 Altima 2.5S Growling Noises

Hello - My 2009 Nissan Altima 2.5S has been making a growling type of noise while in drive or reverse at around 1500 RPM. The engine makes the noise whether the car is moving or stationary, but does not make the noise in neutral or park. Any thoughts? Here is a link to the video i took

Thanks in advance!

More than likely, you have a broken or bent heat shield somewhere on your exhaust system.
This is actually a pretty common problem, and it is annoying, but it is not dangerous. A muffler shop should be able to remedy the problem for a very low cost.

Thanks for the reply VDC! I’ve had heat shields come loose before in another car (subau legacy) and that time it sounded more like a metallic rattle than the growl-type noise that I’m hearing in this altima. I appreciate the reply!

Finally figured out how to get the video up: http://premiereclip.adobe.com/videos/CNxkW5f9uCm

Sounds just like my '08 Altima. Check the exhaust system.

Thanks NYBo. Looks like an exhaust system check it is!
