Yeah…you wont really hear the click if the starter does its job properly…the click is hidden in the starter motor and engine cranking noise.
If this isnt an all the time thing… deal with it when it is… or poke at it in the spring…Im freezin over here and my tools need to be warmed prior to touching them.

In the “ON” position, did some of the dash warning lights come on like they normally do (as a test)?
That would suggest the dashboard wasn’t getting power.
Ignition switch is my #1 suspect for that.
Try starting the car then wiggle the key.
If it cuts off you know the ig switch is flaky.
