Air ride

1997 Cadillac Seville SLS ,is there an adjustment to make the air ride firmer? The car seems to bottom out when going over dips in the road. What has to be done to fix this problem??

Are the shocks leaking?

While I don’t know if this vehicle has a ‘self-leveling’ system or the old standard inflatable shocks, the idea is much the same.

Difference is with the ‘self-leveling’ system, the compressor builds the air up in the shocks up after a sensor signals a loss of air.

If using this type, check the sensor (usually a pointed piece of metal) isn’t bent or missing where it should touch the cross-member or body part to activate the switch.

The old style requires using a gas station or other portable compressor and a air pressure gauge when filling the shocks.
