My wife’s 2005 Explorer air conditioning system takes about 40 minutes to get cold when started from rest and parked in a hot yard. The condenser is clean, compressor engages, and freon level is good and has about 40psi pressure. When cold air finally comes it starts on passenger side then slowly migrates across to drivers side
Any ideas gratefully recieved.
Check to see if the vent doors are operating as they should be.
Low side pressure alone tells you little. You need to determine high side pressure and compare both pressures to a chart with temp. You also need to determine the compressor on and off times.
That said, " When cold air finally comes it starts on passenger side then slowly migrates across to drivers side" points to a control problem. does this Exploder have fancy pants electronic controls or knobs?
