I have a 1996 toy corolla and wonder the life time of air bags when I turn on the ignition the air bag light comes on for a few second then shuts off which I think is what it suppose to do dos this mean the bags are in working order

Yes, unless you are talking about your mother-in-law in the back seat.

Yes, this is normal. If the airbag light stays on, you have a problem. As long as it goes off, nothing to worry about.

The owner’s manual will explain this.
