Adding power steering

Currently have a 1983 Prelude w/o power steering. Is it feasible/costly to add?

The only way to tell for sure is to get some estimates. If you want it badly enough, will do the work yourself, and find a donor car that is totaled because of other issues, it might be worth it. Otherwise, it will certainly cost more than the car is worth. If the car is an heirloom and you want to drive it, I guess you will be willing to spend a bundle on it.

No. It would be a waste of money on a 25 year old car.

No, it is not. It would cost more than the value of the car.

In addition to replacing the steering linkage with a rack (which all by itself would cost hundreds) it would also require the addition of the pump, the pulleys, and the hydraulic lines. And maybe even the steering column. You’re talking a total of thousands if you’re having it done.

No. Forget it. Drive it as is or trade it for something with power steering.

Remember the old Volkswagen Beetle ads? The last thing you need is power steering. I agree with it. Power steering is when you put 35PSI in the tires. They turn easily then.
