MY GIRLFRIEND HAS A 2002 HYUNDAI SONATA,WE HAVE TO FILL IT VERY VERY SLOW OR ELSE IT SPRAYS BACK OUT ALL OVER US IS THERE ANYTHING WE CAN DO.
THANK YOU
JOHN
Often there’s a valve in the filler neck to prevent fuel from pouring out after a rollover crash.
That could be malfunctioning.
EVAP system problems are another potential cause, a good mechanic should be able to diagnose the problem, and it should not be too bad cost wise, pick a few mechanics, get some quotes and pick the one that says I know it is this, I’ve done a few of these!
- Fix your CapsLock KEY! It appears to be stuck.
- If you’ve been in the habbit of topping off the tank after the pump has clicked off, you MAY have flooded the charcoal cannister, which is part of the fuel vapor recovery system. Hope it’s not that…expensive.
