I maybe a little off topic, but what the heck. My 1992 Honda Accord, bought new, has almost 272,000 miles and the original plug wires. My wife's 1998 Honda Accord, bought new, has 248,000 miles and the original plug wires. I can't understand how a car with 45k miles needs new plug wires. Nor can I understand how so many replies recommend new plug wires.
I change plugs at 30k mile intervals. Both cars have 4 cyl engines, so plug replacement is easy and I do it myself. Probably the reason that no one has been able to talk me into replacing plug wires. I install Autolite plugs, usually bought from Wal Mart, for $1 to $1.50 each.
I keep close track of fuel consumption, and neither car has suffered for lack of new plug wires.
