Hey guys, generally do all the repairs either by myself or with my father. My 08 Lincoln MKZ has treated me well but recently the AC has seemed to not want to cooperate. Last few years I would recharge the system in spring and never have to deal with it till the following year. Didnt go as swimmingly this year though. My system blows air but unless Im driving over 30 mph it wont blow much cold air. Is there any advice with steps to take so I can rule out different components in the system? Any help would be appreciated!!!
Do you have a proper set of gauges and good knowledge of how to charge the system properly and safely? If not, take it to an A/C shop. You really should fix the leak regardless.
Clean the condensor and make sure the electric fan is working when you turn the AC on.
I use a refrigerant sniffer to locate leaks.
If you have to keep adding refrigerant each season there’s a leak.
But a set of refrigerant gauges needs to be connected to the system not only to determine the state of charge of the system, but to also determine the operating pressures of the system.
For all we know, the compressor could be failing.

+1 for reply’s above…
The head pressure (high side pressure) and the low side pressure will tell you a lot while watching both pressures…
We know that video isn’t showing any of your vehicles, George
