The vehicle has 100000 on it. The porblem i am trying to solve is the alternator gives a good out put at 3000RPMs. Below that the battery will go dead.
I am used to the fact that an alternator has an output or not.
I am suspecting the grounds may be corroded before I replace the Alternator
Have the battery checked also, it may be fried.
Did that and it checked out good.
By all means check the grounds first, but yes an alternator can provide a low output. It’s an inductive device, and if some of the windings are bad the induced peaks will be lower.
