How in the World do you change a Headlight in a 98 Malibu
Do you have an owner’s manual? It may tell you in there.
Do you have an Auto Zone parts store near you? They’ll do it for you.
They also will likely have a repair manual that should include instructions.
[b]To change the lamp in the headlight assembly requires gaining access to the backside of the headlight. This might require the removal of a component such as the battery or the air filter box.
Once access is gained, reach behind the headlight and turn the large plastic lock collar 1/4 turn. Remove the lamp from it’s socket.
When installing the new lamp, do not handle it with your bare fingers. The oil in your skin causes hot spots on the lamp which results in shortened lamp life.
