How do I change the O2 sensor on my v6 toyota? It says how to check it in my Haines book, but there is no directions on how to replace it. Are there any on-line sources that show the blow-up of that repair?
Thanks
They just thread in and out as if it was a bolt. You can get special sockets (slotted for the wires) at an auto parts store. At those with loaner tool programs you can “buy” it, use it, and then return it for a full refund.
Thanks, but I can’t find where it is. Are there any websites that show the engine and where things are located?
O2 sensors are in the exhaust system, before and after the catalytic converters.
If you don’t know where these are, then you need to have someone else do the work for you.
BC.
Thanks, that helps a lot, someone told me they were somewhere else and I have been looking in the wrong spot.
Just find the exhaust manifolds and follow them. Look for the thing sticking out of the pipe with the wires going into it.
