Very sketcy info, but a bad CV joint is possible. A mechanic should check the car, or provide a lot omre details about the symptom.
Agreed with the CV joint diagnosis but there’s always the slim possibility a knock can be caused by a problem in the transaxle final drive and that’s as serious as cancer.
Odds are it’s a CV joint and it should not be difficult to sort out.
Someone may be at the door if you hear knocking.
