I know that the transmissions for these vehicles are year specific, just wondering if I replaced (that is if it would bolt up) that tranny with a older version 700R4 if it wold shift normally? Anyone know if i could bolt it in and if the transfer case will bolt from the '97 to the older 700R4 (1986???). I have a rebuilt 700R4 2x4 tranny out of a suburban this is why i ask.
Just call up a large auto parts recycler in you area. They have interchange books with all of this information.
