Hello,
My trusty going-on-300K-miles Subaru is in the shop for some overdue attention. She’s got a history of wheel bearing problems, which I have been told is par for the course with a Subaru.
The right rear wheel bearing has been replaced, but there’s still noise coming from the rear end. The mechanic says it’s in the carrier and has something to do with the rear axle housing.
Does anybody have more detailed information on what this means? And perhaps a ball-park figure of how much it should cost to repair it?
