'95 Nissan Maxima - Turns off when turning right and going up a hill

Hello, everyone. I have a '95 Nissan Maxima with 115,000 miles on it.

My car has been making grinding noises for a while now when turning left or right. Recently, within the previous week, it would lose power when I turned right and or was going up a hill and stop. I also had noticed the RPMs have been lower than they should be, and when I press on the pedal, it seems like the power supply to the engine is uneven.

I took the car to a local shop, and they couldn’t figure it out, so now they told me to take it to the dealer, which I heard can be quite expensive. I am a poor recent college grad. Help!

What should I do? Any ideas on what could be causing this weird problem?

I have a 1996 Nissan Maxima with the same problem. Everything we have found so far points to the MAF sensor. We cleaned it with the MAF cleaner and that didn’t help. That’s where we’re at right now.
