Only started happening within the last month. 1994 V8 Dakota. When its warmer out, half the time I turn the key and nothing happens, doesn’t even crank over, but if I tap the gas then turn the key, it starts right up. Any ideas on what this could be?
Maybe the Neutral Safety switch? Try shifting to Neutral and starting. Had this happen on my 95 Dakota.

That’s exactly what it is. Put it in neutral, started right up. Is it a big deal if I don’t get it fixed, if I can live with the neutral starting?
