90 Maxima check engine light

My 90 Maxima does not start. The check engine light does not come on when key is in the on position

Please explain exactly what “does not start” means.

Check the fuses for the ECM and EFI. IF the CEL does not light for a few seconds, indicating self-check mode, Then there is a problem with the ECM. Worst case is a bad ECM. But, I’d check fuses and wire harness before replacing the ECM.
