'68 chevy truck gears

WHERE CAN I FIND A GEAR SHIFT PACKAGE TO FIX THE GEARS FOR A 68 CHEVY TRUCK. THE 1ST GEAR GETRS STUCK AND CANNOT FIND ANYWHERE.

Have you had the linkage looked at? Do you know specifically what’s causing the problem? If not, that’s the first step. You may even discover the “fix” is something other than the tranny, like perhaps the clutch assembly or linkage.

From there you’ll need to search for the correct replacement parts using all the detailed information you can muster. Truck moodel, engine and tranny type, chassis config (2WD or 4WD), everything you know about the vehicle.

We have a 68 chevy C-10 pickup truck with a 290 cubic inch straight six [cylinder] engine and a manuel transmission, shift on the column, three speed. What precisely is needed is a bushings kit, or replacement bushings for the both the upper part of the shift mechanism, on the column on the engine side; and the lower part of the shift mechanism next to the transmission.

Something like this?
