'63 Dodge Dart - Value?

1963 Dodge dart 4 door. Hasn’t been driven in 5 years.
What the value. Sell it as is or put money into it

What engine, transmission??
Numbers matching or a Frankenstein??
Condition of the body and glass?? Rust??

A more door will not be as valuable as a 2 door, but people still dig the 4 doors…

A running and driving vehicle is almost always gonna bring more than a non driver…
I would pull the spark plugs, throw some Marvel Mystery Oil in the cylinders over night , make sure it has oil in it, crank the engine over blowing all the crud out of the cylinders, (maybe even start it next) then change the engine oil, old fashion tune up, start it up to make sure no internal engine noise, check the brakes, suspension, tires, lights, top off all the fluids and see how it drives… You will probably find the coolant weak points on the drive so stay close to home…

Then decide if it is worth putting money into or selling as is…

225 slant 6 cyl, no rust, 3 speed on column (tree) upholstery is new, glass and body are good, numbers all original, one owner,

You might have some luck on an Abody forum, PM me and I can give you the name of a pretty good one… They have a buy/sell section on it…

Any way to get it running? And how is the paint? A manual 6 4-door will limit the value.

If all you have to do is change the fluids, service the brakes, tune it up, and maybe put a new set of tires on it, that would probably be worth it, as far as getting your money back.

As a follow on, OP should crank the engine before reinstalling spark plugs. If it turns over you just want to redistribute the Marvel Mystery Oil.

@Roy01, check Hemmings.com for prices on Darts. They are mostly 70s Darts, but there are a few from the 60s. Don’t expect to get the higher asking prices unless yours is in excellent condition. There’s a 64 4-door in perfect condition for $20K and that would be the top end for asking price if you restore it.

Yupers…

Typically that is done with the spark plugs removed…

Sorry, I try to cut down on how long my post are, but then someone always says you didn’t say to yada yada…

I figured that cranking without plugs is obvious to you but maybe not to someone much less familiar with checking the engine on a car that has sat awhile.

And the value for a rough runner might be $2000, so there’s quite a range.

Yeah, there was a 64 convertible with body damage for $6950. I didn’t want to quote that one because of the convertible premium.
