New 2022 truck has a bad vibration and shaking above 50 mph. Took to Ford Dealer they felt it could not do anything to fix it. Took back for oil change and still has the vibration and shacking.
Rotate the tires front to back and see if the vibration changes, or just have the balance checked at a tire shop…
Do you have custom wheels?? if so do you have centric rings on the hubs to properly center the wheel to the hub??
Already been back to Ford dealership rotated and balanced factory tires and wheels with no difference in ride. Still shakes.
I know a guy that has a vibration in his 2022 Ranger, his is a bad driveline, it’s been at the dealer for 3 months now waiting for Ford to get one under warranty, they’re out of stock.
That’s my guess too. I’m presuming this is a 2WD truck, or if 4WD, running in 2WD mode w/free spinning front hubs. OP, have you done the experiment of checking if the vibration changes when driving in gear vs coasting? Another idea, ask shop to put truck on lift and run it in gear. Then they can watch the driveline rotate all the way from the transmission (or xfer case) to the rear differential, then to the rear wheels. If truck uses a mid-driveline support bearing, fiddling with its position-adjustment might help. Good chance to check if the rear tires are doing any side to side wobbling too. They might be able to ID the problem better that way. If all else fails … hmmm … maybe remove the rear axle shafts, check if they are bent.
BTW, changing the engine oil is unlikely to affect a 50 mph + vibration, unlikely to be engine related. Which is a good thing if you think about it.
Keep at it and document everything. Part of what you paid for the truck is the warranty so you are entitled to a fix. If all else fails, you may have to invoke your state’s lemon law.
