I have a 2020 silverado 4x4, 6.2 engine that makes metallic rattling noise in driver side front wheel. noise is there whether it is in either 4 or 2 wheel drive. have contacted GM, they tell me there is no fix for the problem. There is a fix with a new transfer case, but i guess that is not an option for them.
does your truck have a center cap on your rim? if it does it could be loose.
Transfer case is under the ‘hump’ in your truck, how would that “fix” a noise from the right front wheel?
What did your dealership diagnose as the problem?
Drive an couple more of these at the dealership to see if this problem is “normal”.
Ford has quite a bit of trouble with the hubs partially engaging into 4wd making a ratcheting sound. Not sure of the specifics. I wonder if GM may have a similar setup.
If the sound is present in 4wd, it’s probably a different issue altogether though.
