2019 Infiniti QX50 - Loss of power when hot

Hi everyone,
I’m having an issue with my 2019 Infiniti QX50. On hot days, the car noticeably loses power during acceleration — it feels like the turbo stops working properly. There’s no check engine light, but overall performance is clearly affected.

Has anyone else experienced something similar, especially in warm weather? Could this be related to heat soak or a known issue with the turbo or engine?

I see a few possibilities.
In very hot weather, the air contains a lower density of oxygen, and this results in a drop in power on all IC engines, whether they are turbocharged, or not. So, it’s possible that there is nothing wrong with the turbocharger.

Or, if there really is something wrong with the turbocharger, it would likely be due to lubrication issues. Are you changing the engine oil on schedule, in terms of both odometer mileage and elapsed time?
Are you using the correct specification full-synthetic 5w-30 oil?
Is the oil up to the correct level on the dipstick?

Also, are you using premium-grade gas?

Ur car has VC motor. Very odd design. Easily could have issue with system as it’s very dependent on oil quality and pressure. If it runs “ok” otherwise I’d sell it.

And you would be the one to buy it cheap?

In case someone doesn’t know what a VC engine is, it is a Variable Compression ratio engine…

But, the ones manufactured in Vietnam are Viet Cong engines.

Friend had one. No issues. Just got rid of it and has new merc gle350. Not VC. But it is turbo 4 and partial hybrid. Whole new can of worms.

Google this, lots of info:
problems with nissan infiniti vc engine

Check if there’s debris blocking the turbocharger intercooler.
