2016 Subaru Outback - Hesitates - then goes

Engine: 3.6R - runs rough, hesitation to move when pressing the gas at low speeds, then suddenly taking off seconds later.

Welcome, your Ask Someone question has been redirected to Car Talk…

Do you have a CEL/MIL (check engine light) on?? What are the codes, pending, history or otherwise??
Most auto parts stores will pull the codes for you and give you a printout or you can take pics of the codes… Post them and we can go from there..

How many miles are on it??

As a five time Subaru owner, including a 2016, that sure sounds like CVT slip to me.

Did that vintage Subaru use a Jatco CVT?

Yes, that is a possibility, but because the OP also reports rough running of the engine, I think that an engine-related problem is equally–or more–likely.

That was my thinking also…

It would be helpful if the OP reported back with information such as…
Odometer mileage
Whether the CEL is lit-up
Whether the vehicle is up-to-date with its maintenance

Yeah, but it could be another Ask Someone one and done sadly, but hope not…

Looks like the Lineartronic CVT (TR690) is manufactured by Subaru…

I’m curious, Dave. How can you tell when It originated in Ask Someone?

A couple of different ways…

Most of the time I see it and I almost always quote the original post in with my reply..

Or if I missed it somehow, I see the pencil showing the “post” has been changed somehow, it normally means a Mod has changed the Title, you can confirm by seeing if the OP has been back, but why would a OP change the Title and not answer any replies or post something new… You can also confirm by looking at the time and checking to see when one of the mods was last on, the time lines normally line up… And since Mr GorehamJ posted right after he changed it on this tread at 8:28 pm and the Title was changed at 8:27 pm it was a no brainer…

I really wish (but above my paygrade lol) that the Mods would just leave them alone, it would be fun (maybe) to track the Ask Someone questions to see just how many are one and done’s (yeah I know it is not a proper word lol)…

The reason I do it, so we and the OP all know it is a redirect from car complaints…
