I have a 2016 Subaru Forester that I bought in December 2015 so the 3 year warranty is up in 5 months. Suddenly last week the back up camera started to malfunction. The image on the display shows a lot of the rear bumper which it never did before. I took it to the dealer and they said nothing was wrong and that is the way the image is supposed to look - which is not true. They said there was no way they could fix a back up camera anyway. Has anyone else had this problem?
By the way this dealer took 2 years to fix another problem with this car, at every 6 month service they said they couldn’t find the problem (with a squeak while opening the rear hatch). Only after complaining about the noise for 2 years did they finally fix it.
So why do you keep going back to this same dealer? Find another Subaru dealer and have them address the camera issue while it is under warranty.
