I purchase a 2016 MKC AWD with 44k miles. the car had a roaring sound coming for the back of the vehicle. The MKC then started to “stutter”, not responding and the gas pedal going dead. not even trying to change the gear with shift pedals made any difference… Any thoughts?
Is there a CEL?
Do you mean, when manually downshifting RPMs would not increase?
If CEL is steady and the vehicle is drivable take it to an automotive parts store, have the codes read and report them here. Format will be P0123.
If CEL is blinking, have it towed.
