It wasn’t very likely that the manufacturer would have come to the OP’s aid when the problem first appeared, 18 months ago. Now that the vehicle is 9 years old, the manufacturer will definitely not be interested in delivering new dashboards.
For the OP’s benefit, I want to add that I really hope he/she has been maintaining the vehicle on the basis of elapsed time, rather than on the basis of odometer mileage.
It appears that this vehicle has been driven–on average–only about 2,500 miles per year. The oil should be changed at least once per year, and other vital maintenance procedures should be performed at the elapsed time interval specified in the Owner’s Manual/Maintenance Schedule.
I know a guy who owned a Scion that he drove ~1k miles per year, and despite my warnings to him about annual oil changes, he insisted that the oil “looked clean”, and that he only had to change the oil every 5k miles. The resulting damage to his engine from 6 years of sludge build-up led to a very expensive repair bill.
