Car makes a low pitched humming noise at 40 mph when stepping on gas
Something is vibrating. As strictly a guess, there’s something that’s responding to engine vibration, or there’s something in the intake that’s acting like a reed, maybe a small puncture or tear. If the check engine light is on, I’d lean toward the second one.
