The paint on the bonnet has cracked where the engine is hotest
Bear in mind I am not a mechanic or auto body specialist but it could be a bad original paint job or subsequent bodywork. It could also be caused by excessive temperature. Has it been in a front end accident to your knowledge? Does it run in the normal temperature range?
Is the insulation on the underside of the hood/bonnet still intact?
