when i accelerate the car hesitates once in awhile
Spark plugs, wires, coils, vacuum leak, Throttle position sensor, fuel pressure, bad injectors, fuel filter, or many other things could cause this. We need more info. Is the check engine light on? Does it do it under every condition? Only hot or cold? Between certain speeds? Give us something to narrow this down.
No engine light just the etc light blighted on then off real fast when the car hiccups
There is an Electronic Throttle Control malfunction. Throttle body failure seems to be a common problem for that vehicle.
Check and see if you need a computer software update.
Have someone try cleaning the electronic throttle body.

You most likely have a faulty electronic throttle control unit. Sometimes they can be recalibrated. But it would be wise to bring it to a trusted mechanic that can use the proper scan tools to diagnose and repair it. And like @Tester said cleaning throttle body. You need to know what your doing when cleaning these types of throttle bodies.
