I have a 2010 Jeep Patriot and recently it has started to jerk as I am accelerating. When I get to about 2200-2500 RPM the engine feels like I have completely let off the gas and then put my foot back down on it. Once it showed the Electronic Throttle Control warning light but I have not seen that light again in the past month or so. Originally I thought it might be the spark plugs, but I have changed those and seen no improvement. Does anyone have any idea what could be wrong???
Seems as if it is a problem many Jeeps have and it is intermittent. A few say the dealer flashed their PCM, but this was not a guaranteed fix. The fix seems to be replacement of the throttle body. I would try this procedure and see if it helps at least it can’t hurt http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f98/improve-cvt-response-564386/
