2015 Ford Transit Connect Wagon has mystery popping noise

Even when the radio is off, the weather is clear, warm or cold there is a very loud POP that happens at random about every 20 minutes inside the cab seemingly from the dash board, that scares me and Ford won’t fix it on the warrenty.

That is because your warranty period is over . You can look in your manual and might see that the warranty is 36000 miles or 36 months which ever comes first.

We’re having a popping noise also on our 2020 Connect, turns out its the fuel line right at the fuel filter atop the tank. What it’s doing is filtering out water and other contaminates from the fuel line. This happens once in a while and hasn’t caused any concern to have it replaced. Though I feel if we keep using bad/cheap fuel we may actually have to have the filter replaced. This actually started after adding some STP gas treatment. We’ve since stop adding the STP junk and have switch to gumout’s tune up. if you keep hearing that popping sound try some of the gumout tune up just to see if you have the same popping sound we do. with a 18 oz bottle, you only need less than 4 oz at a random tank fill up. Plus might help if you change up which station you’ve bene getting gas from and try the mid grade.

Ford does not require or recommend premium gasolines for either engine in the 2015 Transit Connect. Premium fuels, including mid grade, are only needed to delay detonation until the plugs spark.
