Comment: Even better than “car in park, apply parking brake, foot off brake pedal” is to “car in neutral, apply foot brake, release brake pedal, put in park”. This way tension is taking up by foot brake before park is engaged.
Good observation Tom. I have tried to teach my boys that way. Always bugs me when someone hangs the car on the parking prawl and then sets the parking brake.
I believe you mean “…apply parking brake…”
And if you’re on my driveway, you’ll find out real quick if the parking brake is adjusted correctly.
