I described in an earlier post what’s happening with my car. Since I think it need to be driven for a while to experience the problem I think they will take just take it for a quick spin an say I don’t feel anything. Is there a machine they can put it on to check if the tranny is operating correctly? If so what is it called or what can I request they check? Thanks
Your previous post:
I know of no such “machine.” If there is no transmission malfunction code in the computer, perhaps they can drive it with a scan tool attached and learn something. I’m guessing this will not find the problem, so the advice given on your previous post above still stands.
You have to request a mechanic drive the car home or over the weekend.
Mechanics often test for proper fluid pressure and whether all the electrically operated solenoids are working. I’m not sure whether they have to drive the car to do these tests though.
