2014 Ford F-150 - Hard first shifts

cold morning shift into second hard once warm it doesn’t do that

If it hasn’t been done recently, might be a good opportunity to replace the transmission fluid and filter as applicable. If internal seals harden and leak, and/or fluid level incorrect, it can make it difficult for transmission to generate the high pressures required to effect well-performed shifts. Fresh transmission fluid will have fresh seal conditioners, and fluid level should be spot on.

When my Ford truck (automatic) was 15 years old it started to display that symptom, wouldn’t shift when cold ambient. It was in the shop for a complete transmission rebuild later that week. Problem resolved.

There might be a software update on your transmission, so give the dealer a call. I know ford has had updates in the past for this problem, but it was not just for cold temps.
