2013 Toyota Corolla - Clutch shudder

When it is very hot (90+) for a few days and I am driving a lot, the car shudders a lot when letting off on the clutch. I have driven a clutch for 30 years, and have had clutches last over 170k each time I’ve had a car. This has been happeneing for about a year or two. So it started about 60k. Is this a defective clutch? Dealer wants over 2k to replace the clutch.

Some cars just do this. If it only happens when hot, learn to live with it. Or change it. The new clutch might do the same thing. And why would you have the dealer do this? Why not an independent shop? Might be cheaper.
