Why is my clutch so lame? I can barely feel the bite point. Makes it very annoying to drive, especially since the throttle isn’t great, either. MINI base’s setup was much better.
So why did you buy it? A test drive should tell you everything you don’t like about the car as well as stuff you do.
I’d suggest going to a mini performance forum and posting this question. Likely other owners have tackeled this problem and swapped clutches and pressure plates with better results.
Smaller the engine and smaller HP - less clutch feel. The mini probably has a cable clutch. No need for a hydraulic clutch.
How many months/years after you bought it did this condition develop?
My clutch has been lame since I bought it lol In 2015, I traded my 2009
MINI Cooper Base (great clutch!) for the 2013 MINI Cooper Countryman
(regrettable clutch). I figured I’d get used to it, but I haven’t :O(
I thought I would get used to it. I haven’t :OP
Again, try Mini forums. If anyone else has had this issue and changed the clutch style and pressure plate, that may have fixed it. You only other choice is to sell the car and buy something else.
