And what is your definition of excessive amount? After how many miles do you need to add a quart?

One man’s (or woman’s) definition of excessive oil consumption can be wildly different from that of another person.

I am going to guess it is the Theta II engine with its issues. Just google it. From what I have heard, the warranty was extended by Kia for lifetime-Hyundai only gives 120 K miles.
