Did you try starting it in neutral it might be the neutral safty switch.

Stuff just breaks… THAT’s how this happens.

Open the hood.
Look on top of the transmission and locate the transmission range switch.
Make sure the nut that secures the lever to the shaft hasn’t come loose.

Your top post says the car thinks it is in Neutral, while your other post says it thinks it is Drive. Which is it? You should be able to start the engine if it thinks it is in neutral, and it is actually either in Park or Neutral. Problems developing with various safety interlocks like this are pretty common reports here in most cars. Try the forum search feature.
