catalytic converter light is on
Seems to be a common occurrence with these cars. The light is telling you there is a problem. If the catalytic convertor is at fault, it is covered for 8 years or 80,000 miles as an emission component by law. There may be other reasons the light comes on that will not be covered. Seems bad intake manifolds are a cause for this.
I’d take the car to a VW dealer an let them do the diagnostics on it. You don’t have to have it fixed there if it is out of warranty. You can see your local independent shop.
