2012 Honda Accord remote key won’t open trunk

2012 Honda Accord Coupe, just got the remote key and was programmed at the dealer: however, it will not open my trunk. The latch inside the car works fine, I do not have a valet switch. I can hear a click when I press the trunk button but it will not open…What’s the issue?

Try a double push. Also the method may be different than pushing the one button. Sometimes they complicate things so much that you have to read the manual three times to get the answer.

What does the other key do? or do you have only one key?

Have you contacted the dealer?

My 2010 Kia Forte requires the trunk release button be held down for at least 5 seconds. Recently I discovered the button will not function with key in the ignition switch. I have no idea what the purpose of that “feature” is.

That is to keep you from accidently opening the trunk will you are driving.

The owner’s manual says the trunk won’t open with the key button if the key is in the ignition.
