I will be driving and my 2012 Traverse says traction control off then a few minutes later its gone. This has me scared. my traverse only has 65000 miles. I am scared to put it in the shop. $$$$ What do you recommend I do? anyone else having these issues. It happens about 3/5 times a week.
That is the only way you are going to find out what’s wrong. You approve the repair, or not. Your choice. You will pay a diagnostic fee but at least you will know what the problem is. And you don’t have to take it to a dealer. A good independent shop is the place to go. Ask your friends, check online as well as on the CarTalk site for local providers.
By the way, traction control only affects a tire that is spinning on a slippery surface. Not having it work won’t strand you are cause you to crash. It just will allow the tire to spin if you give it too much gas. The snow is gone until next fall.
