dear cartalk: whats up with these car makers,with these sealed transmissions? Is it them saving money,or hoping we develope A leak,and have to replace the trans?
Just a guess, I think the make the sealed transmissions to try to make their cars appear to be as maintenance free as possible. I would be shocked if they did them to make them leak more to create more work in replacing them, that sounds like an excellent way to alienate and chase away your customer base
still would feel more comfortable with a dip stick, so I check it once in A while.
I’m in 100% agreement with you on that
my daughter has a 2011 dodge caravan and they put a dipstick tube in it, but no dipstick. they have a cap on top of the tube. had to buy a universal dipstick for it that fits many chrysler models.
