Recent service of my 2011 Toyota Avalon I was advised I needed the following service: Power steering rack and pinion w/d, Alignment with rack and Power steering return and feed w/d. Quote for service was $2000. The car has only 42472 miles and I question if this work is necessary.
Does w/d mean replacement?
First get a second opinion, unusual for a rack to fail this soon.
And what did the service writer say? Is the rack leaking power steering fluid? Is the leak sever enough to bother you?
