2011 hyundai santa fe ticking in time with rpm. Sounds like one cylinder, not all. Been doing this for a few months. Mileage 156,000.
the very first thing coming to my mind would be valve lash getting out of adjustment or if engine has hydraulic valve lifters - the lifter getting stuck either from age or from oil contaminants

First thing I’d suggest is to check the oil. When was it last changed? How often?
