2011 Ford Edge windshield wipers won't turn on (RESOLVED)

Hi All,

Recently I accidentally hit a pothole going pretty fast (40 mph) and ever since then my windshield wipers won’t work correctly. My rear wipers won’t turn on at all, regardless of speed or the wash button. The front wipers will only turn on if set to the highest setting, they won’t turn on on low or the wash button. My intuition is that it isn’t anything to do with the motors because the front and rear died at the same time. My best guess was that some wiring got knocked loose when I hit the pothole.

Anyways, I’m very inexperienced when it comes to car repairs so any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! If I’ve left out any pertinent details, please let me know and I will gladly add them!

OK, Family Guy, suspect the switch on the turn signal stalk.

If you hand was anywhere near the control when you hit the pothole, it may have damaged the switch.

OK, Mustangman, I just got in my car to drive to work and they all of a sudden work again after 4 days of not working… But I will try a new switch if the problem resurfaces. Thank you!
