Can someone tell me if this vehicle has a timing chain or timing belt? What is the recommending time to change it.
A quick check of Gates shows no timing belt application. I also looked for timing chains in replacement parts and found none. The 2.0 and 2.4 engines must have a timing gear set. These sets like timing chains do not require a periodic replacement. Check your owners manual just to be sure. I am not familiar with Kia at all.
Check your maintenance schedule. If your maintenance schedule shows a replacement interval for the timing belt, you have a timing belt. If there is no replacement interval, you do not have a timing belt.
