2010 Ford Explorer - tire malfunction light briefly illuminates

Tire malfunction lightcomes on but don’t stay on comes on for a little while and goes off

It is not a malfunction light . It is telling you that your tire pressure is low . The correct pressure is on a plaque on the drivers door post . If you don’t know how to check tire pressure there are hundreds of YouTube videos showing how to check and air up your tires.

There are two warnings, low tire pressure and TPMS malfunction.

If you are seeing TPMS malfunction there may be failing tire pressure sensors (weak batteries).

You have gotten more than the standard life out of the batteries in those sensors which are probably going dead at this point . Unfortunetly to replace all and have them installed and all tires rebalanced you may pay $200 .
