I just bought this car 7 days ago and it seems to be working great but the check engine light just went on. Should I take it in to a service person?
Yes, that is what the “check engine” light means. If it starts flashing it is telling you to stop driving and park the car right away and have it towed to the shop.
You could stop by any auto parts store and have the codes read for free. Many will even give you a print out of the codes.
List the codes here so we can help.
But as @Mustangman says…if the light starts flashing…have it towed.
